Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix water and yeast together and let sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, salt, oleo, and egg; mix well.
  3. Add enough flour to make a smooth batter.
  4. Add half of the flour at a time, until all flour is incorporated, forming a stiff dough. Add more flour if needed.
  5. Pour dough out onto a well-floured board and knead until small blisters form under the surface.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl to rise.
  7. Cover with a towel and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 to 40 minutes.
