Ono Sashimi

Ono sashimi combines thinly sliced fresh ahi with garlic, capers, and a tangy vinaigrette, offering a flavorful, light dish perfect for seafood lovers and appetizer enthusiasts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 1 lb. fresh ahi
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 4 Tbsp. capers
  • 1/4 cup virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar or seasoned vinegar
  • Grated fresh Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice ahi and lay on a platter.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and pound thin with a wooden meat hammer.
  3. Remove plastic wrap.
  4. Spread minced or crushed garlic over the ahi.
  5. Grate fresh Parmesan cheese and sprinkle with capers.
  6. Chill until ready to serve.
  7. Mix olive oil and seasoned vinegar in a small covered jar.
  8. Shake well.
  9. Just prior to serving, pour the vinegar and oil mixture evenly over the dish and enjoy.
