Ingredients

  • 3 cups walnuts
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, orange peel, and water in a saucepan.
  2. Cook the mixture to soft ball stage (about 235-240°F or 112-115°C).
  3. Remove from heat; add walnuts, orange peel, and salt.
  4. Cook and stir until mixture becomes cloudy.
  5. Quickly spoon the walnuts onto waxed paper and separate clumps with two forks.
