Oregano Cheddar Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 5 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. minced oregano (4 if fresh)
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Stir together the yeast and two cups of the flour in large mixing bowl.
  2. Heat together the remaining ingredients (except rest of flour) until lukewarm.
  3. Add to flour-yeast mixture.
  4. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
  5. Beat at high speed for 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon.
