- Pour hot milk over sugar and shortening.
- Let cool to lukewarm.
- Crumble yeast in water and sugar.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Sift flour in large bowl.
- Add salt and beaten eggs. Add milk and yeast mixture.
- Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Let rise in warm place 2 hours.
- (Cover.)
- Punch down, cover and let go for 1 hour.
- Flour board.
- Divide set in enamel pot.
- Let rise for 10 minutes; brush with milk.
- Prick with fork.
- Set in oven at 325° 10 minutes at 350° (40 minutes).
