Ingredients

  • assorted pasta (such as bow ties, wheels, and spirals)
  • Crisco for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the assorted pasta in boiling, salted water until tender but firm, about 10 minutes.
  2. If desired, keep different shapes of pasta separate during cooking and frying.
  3. Drain the pasta thoroughly.
  4. Heat Crisco in a deep fryer or large pot to 365°F (185°C).
  5. Fry the pasta in batches, a few pieces at a time, until golden, about 2 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Immediately sprinkle generously with seasoned salt.
  8. Serve warm or cooled.
