Ingredients

  • 1 qt. coarsely ground, cored, unpeeled pears
  • 3 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. raisins, chopped
  • grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, margarine, or salad oil in a heavy skillet over low heat.
  2. Add 1 cup of chopped raisins and stir until hot.
  3. Avoid overcooking because pecans darken after being removed from the fat.
  4. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle lightly with salt while still warm.
