Pecan Tea Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Stir first 4 ingredients together; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Combine egg and milk; add all at once to dry mixture, stirring just to moisten.
  3. Stir in pecans. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet.
  4. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Sprinkle over.
  6. Bake at 425° about 10 minutes.
  7. Makes 36.
