Perfect Pretzels

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 qt. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cut and shape dough into 12 (16-inch) pieces.
  2. Twist pieces into pretzel shape.
  3. Bring water and baking soda to a rapid boil. One at a time, place pretzels into boiling water.
  4. Boil 1 minute. Remove and drain.
  5. Place on well-greased baking sheet.
  6. Brush with egg.
  7. Sprinkle with salt.
  8. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
