Pickled Fish

Pickled fish is a delightful dish that combines the tanginess of vinegar with aromatic spices like bay leaves and allspice. This savory treat is perfect for seafood lovers and makes a great addition to picnics or as a unique appetizer for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. white vinegar
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. white peppercorns
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. mustard seed

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together.
  2. Cut fish into small pieces.
  3. Soak the fish in very salty water for 48 hours, then drain.
  4. Put the fish in clear white vinegar.
  5. Pour brine over the fish.
  6. Boil for 5 minutes and cool.
  7. Store in refrigerator in glass jars.
