Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 quart water

Instructions

  1. Bring water and sugar almost to a boil.
  2. Drop pears into the mixture and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Check pears with an ice pick for tenderness.
  4. As soon as you can stick an ice pick through the pears, remove them from the mixture.
  5. Put the pears into jars and seal.
