Ingredients

  • 5 lb. flour
  • 3 lb. shortening
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. white syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the shortening into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add water, salt, and white syrup to the mixture and combine well.
  3. Divide the dough into 20 to 24 balls, flatten slightly, and place them on a cookie sheet.
  4. Freeze the balls on the cookie sheet, then store in the freezer until ready to use.
