Sweet, crunchy, chocolate-covered saltine crackers make for a nostalgic treat perfect for kids and those young at heart, blending buttery, salty, and chocolaty flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 tube saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chip morsels

Instructions

  1. Take a flat cookie sheet or jelly roll pan and cover it with foil. Spread saltine crackers on the pan to entirely cover it.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugar together and bring to a boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot butter and sugar mixture over the crackers evenly.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 7 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the entire pan.
  6. Allow the chocolate to melt and develop a glossy look.
  7. Let cool completely, then break into pieces.
