Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in water. Let stand for 5 mins.
- Stir in salt and mix in 3 c. flour to form a rough sticky dough.
- Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, adding flour if necessary.
- Divide dough into 8 equal parts and shape each into smooth ball.
- Flatten each slightly and roll into 5 inch circle.
- Put rounds on baking sheets, cover with cloth and let rise 45-60 mins. or until lightly puffed.
- Preheat oven to 450° and bake rounds 8-10 mins. or until lightly browned.
- They will puff up while baking.
- While still warm, put in plastic bag, leaving one end open.
- Keeps bread moist and pliable.
- Makes 8 loaves.
