Ingredients

  • 3 (14 1/2 oz.) cans Italian style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 3 small onions, chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • olive oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare polenta according to package directions and in the amount desired.
  2. Butter a baking dish of appropriate size and spread a layer of polenta on the bottom.
  3. Pour some tomato sauce over the polenta.
  4. Sprinkle with cubed mozzarella and any other meat or vegetable you are using.
  5. Add remaining polenta on top.
  6. Sprinkle with sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, rosemary, and olive oil.
  7. Bake in a 350° F oven until hot and bubbly, about 45 minutes.
  8. Let rest, then cut and serve.
