Ingredients

  • 1 lb. potatoes
  • vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Wash potatoes and cut lengthwise into eighths.
  2. Preheat broiler to 550°F.
  3. Place potatoes, cut sides down, in an ungreased jelly roll pan and brush with vegetable oil.
  4. Mix salt, sugar, paprika, dry mustard, and garlic powder; sprinkle half of the mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Broil with tops about 3 inches from the heat until potatoes begin to bubble, about 10 minutes.
  6. Turn potatoes, brush with more oil, and sprinkle with remaining seasoning mixture.
  7. Broil until golden brown and tender, about 5 minutes longer.
  8. Serve with sour cream if desired.
