- Mix yeast, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Cream the hot cooked potatoes with Crisco until smooth.
- Add the creamed potatoes, cooled potato water, and the yeast mixture to the bowl.
- Let the mixture sit for 2 hours to ferment.
- Work in the flour gradually until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough until elastic, then let it rise until doubled.
- Shape into rolls and bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
