Praline Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 c. praline powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 meringue shells
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate and butter in 1-quart saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Cool slightly.
  3. Beat together egg yolks and praline powder for 3 to 4 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  4. Add chocolate mixture and blend thoroughly.
  5. Add salt to egg whites.
  6. Beat until peaks form.
  7. Stir in whipped cream.
  8. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Spoon into meringue shells.
  9. Garnish with chocolate leaves or curls, as desired.
  10. Makes 2 servings.
