Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 7 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • pat of oleo (butter)

Instructions

  1. Scald the milk in a saucepan until bubbles form around the edges.
  2. Mix sugar, flour, egg yolks, and a small amount of milk to make a smooth batter.
  3. Pour the mixture into the scalded milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and add oleo (butter), salt, and vanilla extract.
  5. Use the pudding as a filling for pies or pour over bananas or coconut as desired.
