Ingredients

  • 150 grams Ground meat (pork or beef/pork mix)
  • 1 Japanese leek
  • 2 tbsp Miso
  • 2 tbsp Sake (or water)
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Ginger (grated)

Instructions

  1. Mix the ingredients together to make the miso sauce.
  2. Take the root and green parts off the leek and finely chop the white part.
  3. Heat some oil in a frying pan and stir fry the ground meat, ginger and doubanjiang.
  4. (If you're using a non-stick pan, there's no need to use oil.)
  5. When the meat changes color, add the combined miso sauce and chopped leek, and stir fry.
  6. Stir fry over medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes, reducing the moisture until the meat is still moist.
  7. Drizzle in the sesame oil and it's done.
  8. Today I used it in lettuce wraps.
  9. I added crispy-crunchy lotus root.
  10. Add 100 g of cooked lotus root (canned or vacuum packed) to the basic recipe.
