Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 quart warm water
  • 2 tablespoons root beer extract

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar in warm water, then add the root beer extract.
  2. Mix well and place in a gallon jug.
  3. Fill the jug only three-quarters full with the mixture.
  4. Let the jug stand uncovered in a warm place for 6 hours.
  5. Fill the jug with water, put the lid on, and cool.
  6. The root beer will be ready in about 2 or 3 days.
