Ingredients

  • 4 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Stir in sugar and let sit for a minute.
  3. Beat in the remaining ingredients to form batter.
  4. Grease muffin pan and fill each half full with batter.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes at 400°F.
