Quickie Doughnuts offer a soft, flavorful treat with hints of vanilla and nutmeg, perfect for a homemade snack or dessert that comes together in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. biscuit mix
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Heat deep fat to 375°.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Beat vigorously 25 to 30 strokes.
  3. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead about 10 times.
  4. Roll out about 3/8-inch thick.
  5. Cut with a floured doughnut cutter and place in hot fat.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about one or two minutes per side.
  7. Remove from fat and drain on absorbent paper.
  8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, cinnamon and sugar or glaze with a thin chocolate icing.
  9. Store in a large canister.
