Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. quick cooking oats

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, shortening and brown sugar. Stir in flour, salt, soda and oats.
  2. Press 1/2 of the crumbly mixture in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Spread filling over the top. Sprinkle with remaining crumbly mixture, pressing lightly.
  3. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
