Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 qt. fresh raspberries
  • 1 qt. whiskey or brandy

Instructions

  1. Simmer sugar and water until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cool the syrup and pour over the fresh raspberries in a wide-mouth gallon jar.
  3. Add whiskey or brandy to the jar.
  4. Cover loosely and set in a cool, dark place for 3 months.
  5. Strain out the raspberries and strain again through several layers of cheesecloth.
  6. Pour the raspberry liqueur into clean quart bottles.
