Ingredients

  • 3 tsp. corn oil
  • 2 1/2 c. short grain rice
  • 4 to 4 1/2 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Heat the corn oil in a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Add the short grain rice and sauté quickly over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the boiling water and cook until almost all of the liquid has evaporated.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Reduce the heat to very low and cover the saucepan.
  6. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes.
