Ingredients

  • 7 lb. cored cucumbers
  • 2 c. lime
  • 2 gal. water
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 oz. red food coloring
  • 2 Tbsp. alum

Instructions

  1. Mix vinegar, red food coloring, and alum in a large container.
  2. Add enough water to cover the cucumbers.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 2 hours.
  4. Discard the juice after simmering.
