Ingredients

  • self-rising flour
  • 1 cup 2 tablespoons sweet milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • extra oil for pan and tops of biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. Make a well in the sifted self-rising flour, patting the flour down lightly.
  3. Pour sweet milk into the well.
  4. Add oil to the milk.
  5. Gradually add flour with hands to make a soft dough.
  6. Flour your hands.
  7. Pinch off dough and roll between hands to form biscuits.
  8. Place biscuits on a greased pan with oil, placing them touching.
  9. Dab oil onto the top of each biscuit.
  10. Bake at 450° for approximately 5 to 6 minutes or until done.
  11. Place under the broiler briefly to slightly brown the tops.
