Ingredients

  • 1 c warm water
  • 2 Tbsp dry yeast
  • 4 c warm water
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 6 Tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 cup warm water, and dry yeast; let stand until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 4 cups warm water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the bowl.
  4. Add flour gradually and knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  6. Knead the dough again briefly.
  7. Shape the dough and place in pans; let rise until doubled.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
