Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream butter with sugar.
  2. Add 2 well beaten eggs; mix thoroughly.
  3. Gradually add sifted flour and mix well again. Chill overnight.
  4. Roll out thin on floured board or cloth; cut into shapes and place on greased baking sheet.
  5. Brush tops with slightly beaten egg whites; sprinkle with mixture made of 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Press pecan half into center of each star. Bake in 350° oven for 10 minutes or until edges of star points are lightly browned.
  7. Makes 100 stars 2 1/2-inches across.
