Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb bacon
  • 6 cups hominy grits
  • 1/2 Tbsp salt
  • water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, fry the bacon until crispy.
  2. Add 2 cups cold water to the bacon and stir.
  3. Stir in the salt.
  4. Add the hominy grits to the pot.
  5. Add enough cold water to barely cover the grits.
  6. Cover the pot.
  7. Cook the grits slowly until firm.
  8. Serve while hot.
