Simple Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. milk
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat eggs with sugar until light and thoroughly combined.
  2. Beat in 2 cups of milk.
  3. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it reaches 170° on candy thermometer
  4. and thickens slightly.
  5. Remove custard from the heat and stir in 2 more cups of milk.
  6. Chill the mixture thoroughly.
  7. Whip the heavy cream and fold the whipped cream into the chilled egg and milk mixture.
  8. Serve sprinkled with nutmeg.
