Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. wheat flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. cream of tartar
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in butter until coarse.
  3. Add egg and milk; stir briefly.
  4. Knead on floured surface.
  5. Roll or pat to 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut into biscuits.
  7. Place in greased pan.
  8. Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
