- Beat eggs lightly so yolks are broken.
- Add milk, salt, sugar, and vanilla; mix well.
- Pour mixture into a 2-quart casserole and bake in the oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until the consistency of custard.
- Spoon into cheesecloth and squeeze out excess liquid.
- Tie tightly with a cord and hang from an object until well drained, several hours or overnight.
- Remove from cheesecloth, refrigerate, then slice and serve with ham.
