A refreshing and versatile smoothie perfect for hot days or quick snacks, blending fresh or canned fruit with ice and optional sweeteners for a cool treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fruit (fresh, canned, or applesauce)
  • 2 to 3 cups ice cubes
  • sugar to taste

Instructions

  1. Put 2 cups of fruit (e.g., strawberries) in a blender.
  2. Puree the fruit by blending until smooth.
  3. Add 2 to 3 cups of ice cubes to the blender.
  4. Blend until the mixture is slushy.
  5. Add sugar to taste and blend again.
  6. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass.
  7. Feel free to be creative with different fruits like peaches, pineapple, watermelon, or applesauce.
  8. Optionally, add a little vanilla ice cream with applesauce for extra creaminess.
