Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening.
  2. Add sugar, vanilla, and egg. Beat until smooth. Add flour, soda, and milk alternately, beating until well mixed. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet.
  3. Bake in moderate oven at 375° until golden brown.
