Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups white vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup kosher salt
  • 5 to 6 almond or grape leaves
  • fresh or dry dill

Instructions

  1. Put grape leaves at the bottom of a 1-gallon glass jar.
  2. Add salt, dill, and garlic at the bottom of the jar, layering pickles, grape leaves, garlic, and dill until reaching the neck, leaving 1/2 inch space.
  3. Pour cold water and vinegar over the top of the pickles.
  4. Let the pickle jar sit outside in the sun for 48 hours.
  5. Store in the refrigerator; good for 1 year.
