Ingredients

  • 4 small apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples, then cut into wedges and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, combine sugar, margarine, and cinnamon.
  3. Add water to the skillet and cook, stirring, over medium heat until the water boils and the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the apple wedges to the syrup.
  5. Return the mixture to boiling.
  6. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes or until the apples are just tender.
