Ingredients

  • 4 whole Tart Apples
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, Softened
  • 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 cups Walnuts, Chopped
  • Ground Cinnamon, For Sprinkling

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Wash and dry the apples. Core the apples but don't cut all the way through down to the bottom. You are basically cleaning out the core and making a space to hold your fillings. Use either an apple-corer or just cut out a cylinder with a small knife. Cut a ring (horizontally) through the peel cutting all the way around each apple to let them breath during baking.
  2. 2. In a small bowl mix butter and brown sugar then add walnuts and chocolate chips and mix to combine. Pack the mixture into the cored apples. Place apples in a baking dish and fill bottom of dish with water. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples and water.
  3. 3. Cover dish with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes. Serve baked apples hot, with ice-cream if desired.
