Spiced Iced Tea offers a refreshing blend of black tea infused with warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, and allspice, complemented by sweet pineapple juice. Perfect for hot days or as a flavorful summer beverage, it’s easy to prepare and garnished with pineapple wedges for an inviting presentation.

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. water
  • 6 orange pekoe tea bags
  • a cheesecloth bag containing 1/2 (4-inch) cinnamon sticks, 6 cloves, and 3 allspice berries
  • 3 c. pineapple juice
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • sticks of pineapple core or wedges

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to boil; add the tea bags and remove the pan from the heat.
  2. Let the tea steep for 20 minutes. Discard the tea bags and the cheesecloth bag containing the spices.
  3. In a pitcher, combine the brewed tea with the pineapple juice and sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Chill the tea, covered, until it is cold.
  5. Stir the tea before serving and garnish with sticks of pineapple core or wedges.
