Spiced Pickled Beets

Instructions
- Cook beets until tender.
- Cut in pieces if too large.
- Bring sugar, vinegar, spices and 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil and then simmer for 15 minutes.
- Pack beets in hot sterilized jars.
- Remove cinnamon sticks and pour the boiling liquid over the peeled beets in jar.
- Seal at once.
