Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 4 cups milk
  • frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, unsweetened chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. Stir in water.
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat until the chocolate melts.
  4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Add milk and heat over low heat until the mixture is hot.
  6. Beat with a rotary beater until foamy.
  7. Serve in mugs or cups and garnish with whipped dessert topping.
