Squash Au Gratin "A"

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. yellow squash, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • salt
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 1/2 c. grated Longhorn or Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pkg. Waverly wafers, crumbled (1/3 box)
  • 1/2 c. Pet milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil sliced squash in small amount of water with salt and sugar.
  2. Cover and cook until tender.
  3. Drain well and add remaining ingredients.
  4. Mix well and pour into buttered casserole.
  5. Sprinkle more grated cheese and cracker crumbs on top.
  6. Bake at 325° for 30 to 45 minutes.
  7. Serves 4 to 6.
