Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo or butter
  • 1 large bag Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 bag small multi-colored marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 small bag coconut

Instructions

  1. Melt oleo and semi-sweet chocolate morsels in the top of a double boiler.
  2. Remove from heat and add chopped nuts.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool sufficiently so it doesn't melt the marshmallows when added.
  4. Stir in the small multi-colored marshmallows.
  5. Cut several pieces of wax paper approximately 12 to 18 inches long.
  6. Sprinkle coconut onto the wax paper (use sparingly).
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared wax paper to form logs.
  8. Roll up the wax paper around each log and chill until firm.
  9. Slice into pieces and serve.

Tips & Substitutions

To prevent the marshmallows from melting, ensure the chocolate mixture is cooled to room temperature before adding them. If you need a vegan option, substitute the butter with a plant-based alternative and use dairy-free chocolate morsels. For added flavor, consider mixing in a pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Stained Glass Treats as a festive dessert at parties or family gatherings. They pair well with a warm cup of cocoa or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For a fun twist, try serving them alongside a refreshing Summer Cooler for a delightful contrast.

Storage & Reheating

Store the Stained Glass Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you prefer a firmer texture, refrigerate them. Avoid freezing, as it can change the texture of the marshmallows.
