Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. crushed, sweetened strawberries
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in hot water and chill until partially set.
  2. Beat the partially set gelatin until fluffy.
  3. Fold in crushed, sweetened strawberries.
  4. Gradually beat sugar into egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form and sugar dissolves.
  5. Fold the beaten egg whites and whipped cream into the gelatin mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into the cooled baked pastry shell.
  7. Chill until set, then top with whipped cream.
  8. Garnish with sliced strawberries before serving.
