Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 6 cups popped, butter-flavored popcorn

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, butter, and water in a large, heavy pot.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Continue to cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes syrupy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat.
  5. Add the popcorn to the pot and stir to coat evenly with the sugar mixture.
  6. Turn the coated popcorn out onto a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper in a thin layer.
  7. Let the popcorn cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve in a basket or in individual paper cones for a festive touch.
