Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean stew meat
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • a handful sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 8 oz. sour cream

Instructions

  1. Put raw stew meat into a 2-quart casserole dish.
  2. Mix cream of mushroom soup with water; pour over meat.
  3. Sprinkle dry onion soup mix on top of the soup mixture.
  4. Cover and bake for 2 1/2 hours at 300°F.
  5. Do not peek or stir during baking.
  6. Saute fresh sliced mushrooms until tender.
  7. Stir the cooked mushrooms into the meat mixture.
  8. Add sour cream and stir to combine.
  9. Serve over noodles or rice.
