Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 tablespoon yeast
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, sugar, salt, and butter in a small pan; heat over low heat.
  2. Cool to lukewarm.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  4. In a large bowl, beat eggs and add cooled milk mixture and yeast mixture.
  5. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  7. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Punch down dough and roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  10. Cut into rings or desired shapes and place on greased baking sheets.
  11. Let rise for about 30 minutes.
  12. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool slightly before serving.
