Tennessee Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 5 c. cabbage, shredded
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cream or evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Lightly brown butter in an 8-inch skillet.
  2. Add cabbage and stir well.
  3. Cover skillet tightly and simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Stir and cook another 5 minutes.
  5. Add salt, pepper and cream or evaporated milk.
  6. Cover.
  7. Simmer 4 more minutes.
  8. Do not overcook.
  9. Serves 5.
