Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (2 layer size) white cake mix
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. raspberry jello
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lime jello
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake mix as directed on the package, baking in two well-greased and floured 9-inch layer pans at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
  2. Cool the cakes for 15 minutes in the pans; then poke each layer with a fork at 1/2-inch intervals.
  3. Do not remove the cakes from the pans.
  4. Dissolve each package of gelatin separately in 1 cup boiling water.
  5. Pour the raspberry gelatin over one cake layer and the lime gelatin over the other.
  6. Chill the cakes for 4 hours.
  7. Unmold one layer onto a serving plate.
  8. Top with 1 cup of whipped topping, then unmold the second layer onto the first.
  9. Frost the top and sides with the remaining whipped topping.
  10. Chill again before serving.
  11. Garnish with flattened gumdrops to resemble holly.
